About Backstage With Geoffrey Morrissey

On November 29, 2013 in a dressing room at the House Of Blues in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, Frank Turner became the first guest on Backstage With Geoffrey Morrissey. In the subsequent years, we’ve had over 60 guests on our program, and have covered the legendary Newport Folk Festival and our hometown favorite, the Boston Calling Music Festival. Our show has been host to Modern Rock and Roll Royalty, (Violent Femmes, The National, Tegan And Sara), Pop Superstars (Twenty One Pilots, Walk The Moon), Folksy favorites (Head And The Heart, Brandi Carlile, City And Colour, Big Thief), up and coming acts (Wet, Julien Baker, Bully,The Districts) and everyone in between. Since our start, we’ve found a home on the FM dial on 95.9 WATD, on The Alternative With Chris Atwood. The Alternative airs from 6:15-10:00 on Friday nights, and Backstage interviews are aired during the 9 o’clock hour at least once a month.
